Skills and experience

As Strategic Assistant to the North America CEO, Jocelyn Jopa is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the CEO’s strategic agenda, including coordinating executive leadership discussions and execution of agreed-upon actions.

Prior to her current role, Jopa served as Assistant Vice President and Director of Litigation Management for Zurich North America, managing outside counsel representing Zurich and its customers across North America, including developing innovative methods for achieving the best outcomes in litigation. Earlier roles with the company included leading a global, agile transformation project during an extended assignment in Zurich, Switzerland; managing Zurich’s legal audit operations; leading projects transforming business models across North America Claims; and managing complex environmental claims. Prior to joining Zurich, Jopa litigated environmental insurance coverage matters in state and federal court, concentrating her practice in Chicago.

Jopa previously served as Executive Director of Zurich’s Women’s Innovation Network (“WIN”) Employee Resource Group.

External appointments

Jopa is an active Board Member of Junior Achievement of Chicago, helping to teach Chicago-area students about financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Educational background

Jopa has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and earned her CPCU designation in 2019.
