Special Risk Insurance

Special Risk Insurance (Participant Accident)

What is Special Risk Insurance?

From youth sports to adult civic groups, organized activities enrich our lives … but they are not without risks. Zurich customizes participant accident and injury coverage for amateur and youth sports teams (not falling under Student Accident Insurance), and non-employee participants in activities or events sponsored by day care centers, youth groups, non-school sports teams, and recreational and civic organizations.

Our Special Risk Insurance provides coverage and other special risk solutions with one goal in mind: protecting both participants and organizations. It complements an organization’s general liability policy, filling in any gaps in that coverage and providing potentially broader limits. With the right protection in place, it’s easier to encourage participation, connection and community — throughout life.

Why Zurich for special risk insurance?

Customized coverages

Our group-sponsored coverages can be purchased on a blanket basis annually and for single events. Whether your focus is an annual civic organization meeting at an off-site venue or the season-long needs of your amateur athletic league, we can tailor a suitable policy.

Single simplified policy

For any of our special risk coverages, organizations can select the options that are right for their non-employee participants. Zurich can package them under a single policy, with streamlined benefit administration and support to match.

Claims service

Customer care is essential with accident-related coverages. Zurich’s Claims service earns “Best in Class” scores from our customers.1 Whether your claim is related to a sport accident insurance matter or an unexpected injury during a recreational organization meeting, we are there when it matters most.
