Construction risk management is a strategic, company-wide approach to identifying, mitigating and — as much as possible — removing risks from construction projects that endanger workers or the security and stability of the project and/or the companies involved with it.
While risk exposures for construction projects can be related to things the business does not control (natural hazards, criminal acts, economic downturns, etc.), many of the most common exposures come from insufficient or improper safety precautions, missteps in planning, poor communication or a lack of awareness of best practices among leadership or the workforce.
