Gabriel Valls is an Assistant Vice President and serves as the National Head of Subguard^® for Zurich North America. He is responsible for leading underwriting operations, interacting with the broader market and maintaining relationships with insureds. Under Gab’s leadership, Zurich has been a leader in the evolution of the subcontractor default insurance market.

External appointments

Gab joined Zurich in 2011 as a Senior Account Executive within the Construction Practice. Since this time, he has assumed the national leadership role within Subguard. Gab has 15 years of combined insurance and construction experience. Prior to Zurich, he held various roles in the construction industry, including project manager and project superintendent. He originally started his career with Turner Construction and later joined Hunter Roberts Construction Group as a purchasing agent. His experience spans procurement, estimating, and working as a captive and risk manager.

Educational background

Gab holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance and accounting from New York University in New York City and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Columbia University in New York City.
