Zurich NA promotions boost customer and distributor engagement

Zurich North America, one of the largest providers of insurance solutions and services to businesses and individuals, today announced the promotion of three leaders within its Customer & Distribution Management (CDM) function, led by John Diaz, Head of Customer and Distribution Management. These moves reflect Zurich’s focus on being close and accessible to brokers and customers and positioned to understand and support growth opportunities and unique needs.

“Carl, Andy and Allison each bring to the table a degree of experience and expertise that will help us enhance our distribution partnerships, maximize our capabilities and position us for long-term success,” said John Diaz, Head of Customer and Distribution Management. “Furthermore, they emphasize the deep bench of talent we have within Zurich through each of these roles being filled with existing Zurich talent.”

Carl Sutter has been promoted to Head of National Strategic Broker Relationships, overseeing all Broker Relationship Leaders (BRLs). Reporting to Diaz, he will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with top strategic brokers with Zurich’s BRLs. He previously served as Head of Regional Distribution. Sutter, who is based out of Florida, joined Zurich in 2021. Since then, he has held several distribution leadership roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining, Sutter held a variety of roles at Chubb and ACE USA, including Senior Vice President and National Distribution Leader and Senior Vice President and National Corporate Risk Segment Leader.

Andy Peterson has been promoted to Head of Regional Distribution. Reporting to John Diaz, he will lead Regional Executives, Area Executives and Territory Leaders in implementing Zurich’s North American distribution strategy and promoting Zurich’s customer value proposition across the U.S. Peterson recently served as Regional Executive for New York Metro.

Peterson, who is based out of the New York metropolitan area, joined Zurich in 2008. He has since held several distribution leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Broker Relationship Leader and Regional Vice President for the Northeast Region. Previously, he held leadership roles at AIG.

Allison McEnerney Sletteland has been promoted to Regional Executive for New York Metro and will report to Peterson. Sletteland, who is based out of the New York metropolitan area and most recently served as a Broker Relationship Leader, joined Zurich in 2008. Prior to that, she held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility at Marsh McLennan, Priceline and Citigroup.
