Ann Chai

Skills and experience

Ann Chai is Zurich’s Chief Risk Officer for North America. She is responsible for leading all aspects of our North America Risk function, including ensuring groupwide governance and risk management responsibilities are met, sponsoring programs that contribute to the local delivery of global risk initiatives, developing and implementing risk policies and monitoring adherence, and helping meet North America regulatory requirements.

Chai joined Zurich in 2010 and brings more than 20 years of experience in actuarial roles in both finance and data to her position. Prior to her appointment as Chief Risk Officer, Chai served as Zurich’s Head of Finance for U.S. Middle Market. Before that, she was Head of Actuarial Planning and Performance and held key actuarial roles earlier in her time with the company. Chai began her career at CNA Insurance.

Chai is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a board member of Abacus Actuaries.

Educational background

Chai holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematical finance and economics from the University of Michigan.
