Tool models for ten different perils in best-to-worst case scenarios to identify future risks
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Dec. 5, 2024 — Zurich Resilience Solutions, the commercial risk advisory and services unit of Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich), has launched Climate Spotlight, an interactive digital solution that leverages extreme weather and climate data to provide businesses, municipalities and other public entities with insights to better anticipate, mitigate and manage their extreme weather and climate risks and build resilience.
Aroo Sivasubramaniam, Head of Zurich Resilience Solutions for North America, said, “In the face of worsening weather and climate conditions, Zurich Resilience Solutions is helping customers be proactive and take steps to build their extreme weather and climate resilience. The Spotlight uses our own proprietary weather and climate data to generate insights that can help businesses identify and quantify risks to their operations, assets and people, so they can best allocate capital and build a competitive advantage.”;
Climate Spotlight includes two key products:;
- Climate Spotlight Core: Allows organizations and public entities to access a live, self-serve dashboard, providing a fast and flexible way to identify climate risk exposure for up to 100 different sites worldwide.
- Climate Spotlight Expert: Includes additional customization, like the choice of business- and exposure-related metrics, vulnerability data, the ability to analyze any number of sites, and consultation with in-house climate risk experts throughout the process.
Climate Spotlight provides a clear understanding of extreme weather and climate-related exposures for both strategic and operational decisions. It also delivers insights and data necessary for climate reporting, covering four different climate change scenarios up to the year 2100. This analysis includes risk identification, risk materiality and hazard evolution, which is aligned with CSRD1 requirements and can be integrated directly into the TCFD2 framework.
The launch of Climate Spotlight aligns with Zurich’s commitment to both support customers in their climate transition and to help them to better manage climate risks and build resilience.
