Schaumburg, Ill., January 22, 2013 – Zurich, a leading property and casualty insurer globally and in North America, looks to expand its footprint in the excess and surplus property market through an agreement with Blue River Underwriters.
Through the agreement, Blue River will serve as a program administrator for Zurich American Insurance Company, writing E&S property coverage on both a primary and excess basis. Targeted classes of business include: property owners, hotel/motel, churches, retail, offices, light manufacturing and vacant buildings. Blue River also has the ability to write these classes in Florida excluding wind and hail, as well as, offering excess habitational covers. The program is written on a non-admitted basis excluding Critical Earthquake, Flood and Tier I & II wind exposed properties.
Zurich's nationwide property claims team will handle claim services for the program.
Blue River, is based in Atlanta, Ga., and is a commercial property underwriting facility for Breckenridge Insurance Group.
